We just wanted to wish all our visitors a Happy Christmas!! We hope everyone get’s a chance to relax, spend some time with friends, family or both. There are always loads of Christmas movies on today and for the next few days and while most of the shops are shut if you still feel like shopping you can shop online.
You know when someone gives you an unexpected gift (like my colleague Marc-Andre did this year) and you didn’t get them anything you need help, emergency last minute shopping. One of the best but most frowned upon ways of getting them something quickly is by re-gifting something that someone gave you for Christmas (or before). Simply a quick wrap and you’re done. Otherwise you can go online and see which stores do 1 or 2 days shipping, but usually around this time of year the shipping takes a little while longer, so heading out to the shops on boxing day might be a good idea, or check out the online boxing day deals in Canada here. You might also have luck getting some tips, ideas and some healthy online discounts from our Christmas Coupons page.
If you are looking for ways to while away the time then board games are a great way to create some memories, but it depends on how many you are with, I guess 4 or more and you can have fun playing cards, charades or even something a little newer like apples to apples (I’m got my sister this game for Christmas). If there is snow in your region (and in Canada it’s kind of tough to not find snow this season) then you can always head out to enjoy the fresh air and the non-work-ness, like snowshoeing, skiing, walking, sledding and more.
Anyway, I need to stop writing and start enjoying myself. For once, you may want to get away from the computer :) That is unless you are urgent Christmas shopping.
Our traffic has been spiking since the start of this week. In fact every year has seen a growth in popularity for Black Friday in Canada. What originally started as a U.S based shopping event has expanded across the globe, first with Canada, and now I hear reports that the UK is getting in on the act (Oxford street must be a mess today). As there are 1001 Black Friday deals/sales/coupons flying around today I wanted to just give my top picks for 2015 to save some readers a bit of time if they are in a hurry.
All the below offers can be found on our extensive Black Friday VC page, check them out here.
1) The 30-50% off sales at the Gap brands (Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic);
2) Up to 60% off select Sears products (the stock is going down fast though);
3) 10% off all Toms.ca purchases;
4) Up to 35% off all purchases at Club Monaco;
5) Chapters Indigo $10 off with Visa. Perfect for gift giving;

Happy Birthday Canada! I hope that most of you are on holiday today and is going to enjoy its day off. There are so many free activities organized out there to keep everyone entertained today.
Today, the admission is free to all national parks, marine conservation areas and national historic sites. If you still haven’t decided what you’re going to do today, visiting any of these areas could be a fun activity. Note that only the parks managed by the Government of Canada have free entry, not the ones managed by your own province unfortunately.
For more activity ideas, be sure to visit our “What To Do For Canada Day” guide organized by province. It’s a little old but still has some nuggets of information.
What do you have planned? Are you going to celebrate with other fellow Canadians? Or are you going to enjoy some time with your family?
Happy Canada Day!
Update: We just added the new coupon that expires April 30th, 2015. Enjoy!
Finding your nearest Bulk Barn isn’t too hard and neither is spending $10 there (especially if you have a sweet tooth like me). Upon doing so, you will now be rewarded by getting $3 off for your troubles with this printable coupon that we have been given access to by Bulk Barn.
Bulk Barn sell everything from nuts to sweets. I know sweets are probably never actually ‘good’ for you, but nuts can be. In fact, check out this fun article on the benefits of different nuts (I think I’ll definitely be eating more cashew nuts from now on).

We’ve been talking about Christmas for a while now and just like every year, time flies away so quickly and it is already here. I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas Eve yesterday with friends and family and I hope you will enjoy the rest of your holidays.
On the behalf of Vouchercodes.ca team:
Warmest thoughts and best wishes for a wonderful Holiday
By now, you’ve most likely heard about the past Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals a few weeks ago, and about some of the crazy deals that were available. But what most people don’t know–in fact I only learned about this event today–is that there’s now another shopping holiday that’s slowly picking up steam and right in time for Christmas delivery end dates! Not only is it the cut-off date for guaranteed shipping for most Canadian websites, but stores participating also offer free shipping in Canada with no minimum spend requirements and few if any restrictions.
On December 12th 2014, it’s the third annual online free shipping event in our fair country and you’re invited to take part. Find out more about this event by clicking here. It seems this year this website allows stores to sign themselves up, so they may not all be quality and we cannot guarantee the accuracy of this third party website, but I called up a couple of my favourite stores to validate if they will be running the free shipping no minimum promo and they said yes!
Intrigued? Excited? In doubt still? Check out some of our choice stores that are participating this year:
If your favorite brand is participating, they will be posting it on their site for everyone to see. Let us know how you save and where you’re shopping by commenting below! And if you’re interested in knowing the yearly/standard shipping rates (this is without special offers) for some of Canada’s top online stores then see them here.
If you live in Toronto or the general area, I have found an amazing frugal activity to keep your kids entertained. On Aug 16th 2014, present a printable coupon from their facebook page and you will get in for free. That’s a $15.00 value for the price of nothing. If you’re a VC super fan you might have read that this was one of Stephens top tips to keep the kids entertained for cheap. They limit the rebate to one per family, but if you have multiple children, just buy your admissions separately to qualify for each child. Recruit friends and family if you have more then two children.
The day is promised to be filled with free samples, prizes and much more.
